My Coney Island Series explores the famed New York urban beach in gritty, grainy, high-contrast monochrome. The choice to work in this rough black and white style was deliberate - I wanted to covey the idea of the resort as a theme park at the end of its glory - the end of its time. Coney Island is a weathered place full of hardened people. In many ways Coney Island is a little glimpse into a post-apocalyptic world - right here in the heart of the what is supposed to be the greatest city on earth.
