Candid, real life, quotidian encounters.
My photography is often portrayed as a fictionalized account of real life with the medium manipulating the spatial and temporal realities. Photographs are presented as discovered using only traditional methods of darkroom photography and in the spirit of the straight movement.
Nothing added, nothing removed.
My photographs often muse on people and their environment with notes of individuality and group expression and the negotiation of public and private space under the ever watchful eye of government surveillance and the increasingly suspicious general public.
Set on a modern stage, the show begins when the bright lights illuminate the sometimes unbearable lightness of being. The pictures incorporate a theatrical mood with the aesthetics and candor of contemporary street photography accented with a post-modern psyche.
