A Greying Society - The Forgotten Faces of Contemporary China

The foray into rural China brings us into a world of a greying society. Beneath the expressions of their faces lies an emotional detachment of a person being left behind by the effects of China's focus on its economic expansion. Inundated with the universal celebrations of youth and beauty (as well as changing demographics), the country has lost its connection to its aging population. These portraits, a reflection of the nation’s history, offer a last look at a largely forgotten (and quickly disappearing) portion of the nation's people.
