Helios was the personification of the sun in ancient Greek Mythology. Heliotherapy is the term used to describe light therapy and this body of work continues my interest in the human relationship to light. As a younger photographer I produced work that explored the idea of Photosensitivity – the varying degrees to which we are all sensitive to light. Heliotherapy was shot in the Australian town of Mullumbimby a town that is well known for its attraction to alternative therapies. In this body of work an interesting relationship between the rational and the irrational, the subjective and the objective is beginning to develop.
