SOS
The world feels like it is in distress.
Our leadership, once thought to be represent us all, are polarizing our nations and unions, straining relationships both at home and with allies overseas. Proposing isolation as opposed to engagement and participation, forsaking the founding dream. Privacy, our greatest gift, vanishing in the name of security.
Phrases like Pro-Life and Pro-Choice sound wonderful, but can we just be Pro-People, for life. The vast economic and social divides we have created serve the few, and not the many. We are all human, striving for the same things, irrespective of race, gender, status, religion, sexual orientation, so on and so forth. Our differences are myriad, and we should embrace them wholeheartedly, for we are all created, and continue to be, equal.
Violence is a daily occurrence. Mass shootings, trucks being driven into crowds, suicide bombings, drone attacks, all in the name of what? Religion? Politics? Power? Vengeance? To incite fear? For every soul that pursues destruction and darkness, there are a hundred that believe in unity, love, respect, and light.
The environment, our protector, is under great duress, getting wetter, drier, hotter, colder, literally cracking at the seams. As our planet gave birth to us, we have a duty to protect and nurture our home, for our children, and every generation to follow. Earth is not a commodity upon which we can place a dollar sign, it is our one and only hope for life.
So much is happening, it is overwhelming. My mind cannot rest.
We must seek illumination and balance.
We will fight for it and prevail.
Until then
