TRAVEL: About an Hour from Santa Fe, NM - North, West, East

Although I have specialized in light painting photography of nature areas for the last half decade (see www.LensCulture.com/ron-levy) , I still take daylight photos, even though they have not been part of my art portfolios. My ultimate criteria are much the same: ultimately I search for moments of awe and beauty. Unlike my light painting photography of dark nature areas, the photos here can serve as travel photography since they show what was actually there, visible to the unaided eye.. I took these photos during two solitary road trips into some of my favorite areas of New Mexico. Many of the places are centered around Santa Fe. Only about an hour's drive (at least for your starting point!) To the north and thereabout, there is what some call "Georgia O'Keeffe country, " since the famous painter lived at Abiquiu and "The Ghost Ranch" and took inspiration from the landscapes. To the west, is Tent Rocks National Monument and nearby lakes. And to the east lies the quaint and historical town of Las Vegas, NM -- the original "Las Vegas" and the jump off point to many historical and nature adventures (such as the nearby Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge.) I hope this brief sample will inspire you to explore away from your main destination. Treasures await you in this "Land of Enchantment."
